Mária Čorejová is painter, graphic designer and pedagogue. She is a graduate of the painting school of Prof. Daniel Fischer at the Academy of Fine Arts and Design in Bratislava.
She is a Strabag Artaward International 2010 finalist.

She is a FULBRIGHT scholarships alumna (Art Institute of Boston, USA, 2002) and has completed several art residencies: Slippery Rock University of Pennsylvania, USA, 1997; University of Houston-Clear Lake, USA, 1999; European Diploma in Cultural Project Management, Marcel Hicter Foundation, Brussels, Belgium, 2004; Strabag Artaward Residency, Strabag Kunstforum, Vienna, Austria, 2010; Vissegrad Artists Residency Programme (CIANT, Prague, Czech Republic), 2010; Regular Line Topolcany – San Francisco, The Laundry, 2017.

Alongside with free artistic creation, Maria operates as a freelanced graphic designer. On regular basis she cooperates with publishing houses f.a.c.e., Prešov and Orbis Pictus Istropolitana Bratislava; Gallery 19, Bratislava; Theatre Institute BratislavaItalian Cultural Institute Bratislava, WWF Slovakia and many others.

Since 2017 she is a teacher at the Graphic design department, Josef Vydra School of Applied Arts in Bratislava.

She is also a book illustrator (Alejandra Pizarnik Arbol de Diana (f.a.c.e., 2020); W. Szymborska: Salt (f.a.c.e., 2020), A. Davilla: Cuentos Reunidos (f.a.c.e., 2017), W. Szymborska: Big Number (f.a.c.e., 2016), J. Buzássy: Pláň/Plain (f.a.c.e.,2012), J. Gavura: A Little Show of Pictures and Verses; (f.a.c.e.,2014) or T. S. Eliot: Šibalova príručka šikovných mačiek / Old Possum`s Book of Practical Cats (f.a.c.e., 2014). Her works were published in various magazines and publications (Profil, Contemporary Art Magazine 3/2017, publication Postkonceptuální přesahy v České kresbě, 2016 or magazine Glosolália, 4/2014).

She is also a member of multimedia performances – Souvenir (2017) and Hortus Pomodorum (2020) organised by Nástupište 1-12 in Topolčany.

Her artworks are part of Slovak puzzle project Puclepucle

She lives and works in Bratislava, Slovakia.
