About

Mária Čorejová (1975) is a painter, graphic designer and cultural operator. She is a graduate of painting school of prof. Daniel Fischer at the Academy of Fine Arts and Design in Bratislava. She is a Fulbright schollarships alumna (Art Institute of Boston, USA, 2002) and has completed several art residencies (Slippery Rock University of Pensylvania, USA, 1997; University of Houston-Clear Lake, USA, 1999; European Diploma in Cultural Project Management by Marcel Hicter Foundation, Brussels, Belgium, 2004; Strabag Kunstforum, Vienna, Austria, 2010; CIANT, Prague, Czech Republic, 2010; Regular Line Topolcany – San Francisco,The Laundry,  2017).
She exhibits individually and collectively in Slovakia and abroad (for example: 2016 Liquid Borders, Gallery Loft8, Vienna, Austria; Maria Corejova, 2014 Gallery Bloc project, Sheffield, UK; Drawings.. and Contents, Gallery of Slovak Institute, Prague, Czech Republic; Group exhibitions: 2016 Alone, City Gallery Bratislava; Memory-Phantom-Vision, Critiques Gallery, Prage, Czech Republic.
Recently she is preparing a solo exhibition for City Gallery Bratislava,
Slovakia (opening June 15, 2017)
She was co-founder and member of artistic collectives Burundi and 13 kubikov collectives (active in 2004-2009).
Alongside with free artistic creation she operates as free lanced graphic designer. She designed number of publications, e.g. exhibition Emilio Isgrò, 2017 or Viva
Italia!, 2016 for Italian Cultural Institute Bratislava;  KRV/BLOOD catalogue (2012); series of  school books for publishing houses Orbis Pictus Istropolitana and MarDur, or exhibition +-XXI catalogue for Academy of Fine Arts and Design in Bratislava. On regular basis she cooperates with publishing house f.a.c.e.  for which she prepared many publications, such as A. Davilla: Cuentos Reunidos (2017); V. Roy: Written in Night (2017); W. Szymborska: Big Number, (2016); B. Duzel: Enemy (2016); J. Buzássy: Pláň/Plain, (2012); L. Novomeský: Dom, kde žijem/House I Live In, (2012); Cultural Parallels (2012); TOP 5 (2010 – 2013); I. Hostová: Medzi entropiou a víziou/Between Entropy and Vision, (2014); P. P. Korobčuk: Pôžitkológia, (2014); Magazine on Poetry and Poets Vertigo (since 2013) and with organizations Voices and Croatian Cultural Union of Slovakia, as well as Gallery 19 in Bratislava, for which she created visual identity for various exhibition projects (e.g.Yearbook 2015, Annual Catalogue 2009-2014, Ladislav Novák, 2012 or Art Brut in Slovakia, 2013. She is an author of visual identity of
The Platform of Volunteers Centres and organizations in Slovakia.

In 2010 she was finalist of international art competition Strabag Artaward International, 2010.
She lives and works in Bratislava, Slovakia.
